Review:

BitFinex is somewhat new and has alot of allegations in their past. The platform itself is a great idea, it is a ‘meta’ platform of such, allowing you to trade on multiple exchanges from one place. Originally it worked with BitStamp and MtGox, with very minimal activity on its own internal exchange. Eventually because of MtGox issues BitFinex had to stop working with them and now operates between BitStamp and its own internal exchange.

Trading on BitFinex does get you a slight discount over BitStamp if you are low volume.

They also offer margin trading, the ability to short bitcoin, as well as a bitcoin/USD lending platform (that has at times yielded great APR’s in excess of 400%, but has been rather tame lately.

BitFinex’s Trade Engine also supports Stop and Trailing Stop orders, its one of the only markets with any depth that does.

  2. BitFinex smoothly handled the recent crash, even with alot of forced liquidation, none of the liquidity issues that occurred last time were an issue this time.
